The Auberge de la Pointe: a family tale

The story start in 1957, with the first generation of Côté, François and is wife, Pauline Leblanc. They saw the potential of the site, located on the cliff, with panoramic waterfront. A long and beautiful story of hostelry was born.

After developing the installation of the Auberge and building a solid reputation across the country, the first generation pass the torch to their 4 sons; Carl, Jean, Marc and Jerome.

The family business did continued is ascent in the 80s by being the leader of package tour. Jean Côté took the lead of the Auberge and extend the business to others market; the European, American and Canadian market. Recognized among his peers, Jean had been president of numerous associations and committees, in particular the Quebec Hotelkeeper association.

In 2001, his son Marc-Antoine (3rd generation) and his associate Charles Labrecque took over the business lead. The Auberge continued to fulfill his goal; to be as successful in the hotel resort as in the health (spa treatment) and business (congress, meeting). These 3 market niche live perfectly side-by-side, because they don't visit the Auberge at the same season time. The clientele is very good during the 6 months of operation due to this.

Every year, the owners invest a lot of time and money, making sure to improve every aspect of the guest stay. The rooms, furniture, building, terrace and the new services are always upgraded. That is one of the reasons why the Auberge de la Pointe received honors and prices, as the Business of the year in 2007 and 2011 from La Chambre de commerce de Rivière-du-Loup, the 2014 price from Grands Prix du tourisme and Prestige Tourisme 2015, to name a few.

Charles and Marc-Antoine are convinced that the Auberge, so nicely located near the St. Lawrence River, will continue to shine as a jewel in the hotel and tourism world. One stay here will convince you!
