Auberge de la pointe

History

The Auberge de la Pointe, is the Côté family, which has welcomed you to this panoramic site, on the banks of the St.Lawrence river since 1957, when François Côté and his wife, Pauline Leblanc, laid the foundations for this haven of relaxation. A reputation of excellence quickly spread out, so their sons Carl, Marc, Jérôme and Jean took over and developed a system of organized bus tours that soon became a sensation.

In the 80s, Jean took leadership of the lodge and extends its hallmark of excellence internationally. Europeans, Americans and Canadians in turn fall under the spell of the Auberge de la Pointe and the town of Rivière-du-Loup, which tourists tour aboard a little train marked with the establishment’s colors and logo. Endorsed by his peers, Jean sits as president of various associations, including l’Association des Hôteliers du Québec.

Since 2001, his son Marc-Antoine, and his associate Charles Labrecque, have been managing and developing the company. After resort vacations, they successfully developed business tourism, therefore extending seasonal operations.
Every year, major investments induce more prestige to an establishment that is already a hallmark: Expansions, upgrades major renovations, Marc-Antoine and Charles keep on highlighting the natural charm of the place, especially with the creation of two patios, one of which is 6000 square feet, unique in Quebec, directly overlooking the St. Lawrence River and its islands.

Recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including Business of the year for 2007, 2011 and 2016 presented by Rivière-du-Loup’s Chamber of Commerce and the Quebec Tourism Award in 2014, the Management of the Auberge de la Pointe maintains the family tradition of this flagship of Quebec’s tourism industry.
