FAQ

Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions that will help you plan your stay at the Auberge. If you don't find the answer to your question here, please contact us and we'll add it to this page!

Why is a pre-authorization (security deposit) asked upon my arrival?

Pre-authorization is asked to all guests upon check-in; primarily, this pre-authorization is used to open up your room credit and cover the cost of food and beverages, long distance calls, property damage, room tampering, or theft, if applicable.

What is the pre-authorization amount?

The amount of the security deposit required upon arrival is the total amount of your reservation plus 100,00$. The deposit is charged to your credit card. At the time of your departure, if you wish to pay with another method of payment, the pre-authorization will be reversed on your card. Please allow 5 to 14 business days depending on your financial institution for this to appear on your statements.

What is the timeframe for releasing the pre-authorization?

During your stay, a preauthorization will be placed on your credit card to guarantee your reservation and cover any additional charges.

This pre-authorization is not a payment, but a temporary hold placed by your financial institution. Upon your departure, we will release this pre-authorization in our system. However, the time it takes for it to disappear completely from your statement depends solely on your bank or card issuer.

In general, the release is complete within 5 to 10 business days, although some institutions may take up to 14 days.

If the preauthorization is still visible after this period, we suggest you contact your financial institution directly, as the hotel unfortunately has no control over the speed of bank processing.
